The no lock is due to the switch in lock cylinder that triggers key in warning. It is not immo chip sensing. Immo chip sensing is done when ignition goes to position 2 in less than 100 milliseconds.

I lock Munchy Dog in my 2004 S80 all the time with the engine running. I lock lock the doors while sitting in the driver's seat engine and ac on. Open the door which unlocks only the driver door. Than shut it insert the second key into the outside lock and turn right which locks the door for my car. Then the dog is safely locked in with the ac while I go into the store. Now the push buttons dont work with the engine running so I have to manually unlock the car with the key. My car twist the key left once and only unlock the driver side door but turn the key left for a second time and all doors unlock. If that 'denial to lock the car' function is tied to the CEM being able to read a key transponder (if it sees one, the only allowable way to lock the car is with the button on the door with the door shut)... then the idea of hiding a programmed key/transponder chip near the antenna ring might be a problem.

If the key is in the ignition, you must also have a dog in the car.

Your dog left in the car with your only key in ignition, with it running, can absolutely lock your car by standing and depressing the lock button. That same dog will almost assuredly not be coaxed into stepping on the unlocks side of that switch regardless of bribe or threat.

This works on my 99 but non on my 2005. The lock goes down and then jumps back up when I release the key.June wrote: ↑23 Feb 2019, 09:15I lock Munchy Dog in my 2004 S80 all the time with the engine running. The dog has it easier than that in my car since my S80 still uses the Volvo Central locking system. So only one button for lock and unlock. The trick woul be to get a paw on that little buttonjimmy57 wrote: ↑23 Feb 2019, 11:44 Your dog left in the car with your only key in ignition, with it running, can absolutely lock your car by standing and depressing the lock button. Didn't Volvo change the computer system for 2005 and up cars? Juneabscate wrote: ↑24 Feb 2019, 06:12This works on my 99 but non on my 2005.
