Yes, the CEM was a new design in 2005+. The behavior would be a software function. My sister's old '02 Jetta did the same exact thing: absolutely impossible to lock your keys in the car if they were in the ignition, car running or not. This also means not being able to start the car, lock the door, and go back in the house while the car warms when it's -25F outside. Or as you say June, have the ability to bring precious for a car ride and be able to run into a store that doesn't allow fur babies.

Unfortunately Publix "Where shopping is a pleasure!" Does not allow dogs along with all the other grocery stores down here at least... Recently some law went into effect and now I can't even take him into Walmart!!! I'm beginning to hate politicians
