Advise. Do not buy cheap Chinese alternator....

Post by LOB »

Driving home from the Check republic to Norway my alternator stopped working. Luckily a Polish alternator expert had a new Bosch/Volvo OEM in stock. I replaced my original alternator with a cheap one since I couldn't find the spare part regulator to my original alternator during a vacation trip 4 year's ago. That was a big mistake. The Chinese crap regulator eats regulator coal, they only last 30-40 000 km. And finally after 70 000 km metal fatigue and corrosion ended the life of the budget alternator. A bad alternator means problem. I wish I knew that before. My cheap alternator has given me a lot of trouble over the years.
