My post was confusing. After flushing ,I shut engine and hose off. I let engine drain. Close off ports.

About 3 liters of water remain In engine. Add 4 liters coolant. About one liter of water needed To top off , in my experience.

That was a perfect anti-freeze mix for a North Pole Volvo -- Himalayan may be.

The magical 3.78 liters, 2 liters concentrate with 1.78 liters of distilled water (=1 gallon) is just right of a mix for folks around I-94. My cars started and ran during the polar temps.

I was confused by your original post.

Thanks for the clarification.

The point that you made is an important one.

If the system is flushed with pure water then some pure water will be trapped in the system which will dilute the final mixture.

I did completely miss that point the first read but it makes perfect sense now.

I used to live somewhere cold when I was younger, not anymore!!!!

The temperature did drop into the high 40 over the weekend (maybe I need to move close to the equator, Hawaii is nice)

I love my four season climate, and we are just Hitting spring weather , as we get tired of winter.

I couldn’t take more than a month or two of weather above 80F/28C, but if I go any farther North CANADA has to let me in. I am very polite, I use commas, and I can change my “ huhs” For “ EHS” ..maybe that will do it.
