Engine Wire Harness

I purchased a 2005 S40 T5 Fwd over a year ago and 300 miles from performing my first oil change, the engine blew up. I am in the process of finishing up a engine swap after it has sat for almost a year.
I have a 2 prong connector I plugged into the top of the transmission but can someone verify that is correct? From what I can find with parts, it connects to the reverse light switch. Just need confirmation. Thanks in advance.
