Yo, abscate, I just spent several fruitless minutes trying to locate "the Volvo parts Lisle site". I remember the red and white Lisle tools throughout my entire car life but I cannot find what you referred to.

Sorry for the "spoon feeding" request but what is this sites address?

I’ve sent them a couple of suggestion on making their site more friendly like being able to login and save your VINS

Seafoam is/was designed for two stroke marine engines in the '40's. With a little bit of marketing it is also now good for four strokes!
Go with something that has a PEA additive in it if really necessary.

Make sure to replace the PCV box even if you find it empty. The box itself doesn't have to be clogged to be dysfunctional.

Positive crankcase ventilation

Fancy words for the system that captures oily gas from your engine and burns it in the cylinders. On Volvos, if the previous owners didn't change oil enough, the plug up with gunk. After about 10 years the plastic parts on the system get brittle so you replace and not clean these parts.

Also there is a diaphragm in the box from what I understand that can fail. Really if the system needs service you might be better off paying a Volvo mechanic if you feel uncomfortable doing a larger job like that. Do a glove test. I'll attach the photos showing you how. Volvo says never use additives in the oil. 100% synthetic oil will melt the crud away. I switched my car to Redline and all that crud is disappearing on own.i have always had 3000 mile oil changes with "synthetic" dealer oil changes and had that same crud. Over the last 35K the engine crud has incredibly been dissolving. I'll attach photos of the grates 35k apart. June

These parts are buried under the intake manifold, the big metal thing that looks like pipes cast together at the front of the engine.

It’s a big job to start out on as a beginner, you need help with this one. Just to give you an idea I did my second to last one in three hours, my last one on a less familiar model XC took 12 hours. There were some really hard to access bolts requiring crows feet wrenches
