After 12 years, finally letting go of my beloved "Inga". It's time to move on...
Originally purchased her in 2007 with 73K miles. Never really driven much and hasn't been a daily driver for years, but has made a few cross-country trips. After 5 years in Texas she now back in New Jersey with 154K miles. Last few years intended to "fix her up" as a sort of project car, but life happens.
1998 was the first year of the S70 after the 850 having a great run. While the two models are 90% the same, there were some differences between the last 850, and the first S70. Interestingly, she's an EARLY 1998 S70 GLT (factory non-turbo) so has some 850 leftovers, like the location of the EVAP canister in the front rather than the back.
Will sell or trade (best offer) or gift... yes, GIFT... to someone worthy* that can appreciate her.
Pros:
- - Drive train rock solid and strong. Great pick up and handling.
- Cold AC
- Warm seats
- Power windows, seats and locks all working
- Front driving tires new-ish, have <1000 miles on them
- - NO Sunroof... the glass ejected like a Bond car. Long story, but completely sealed and weatherproof with "crash wrap".
- Texas sun fried the clear coat on hood.
- Front struts need replacement eventually.
- Power antenna doesn't raise all the way.
* OK, what do I consider worthy?
- 1) Someone in need; struggling without reliable car to go to work, has kids, etc.
2) Volvo enthusiast or adjacent that will finish the repairs/work I didn't and have a really nice S70 when done.
