Hi
I am thinking about buying a 2013 Volvo V70 2,0 D3 136. I am a bit worried in regards to the the diesel engine and the type of driving I will be doing. I will be doing what I would categorize as mixed driving with some short trips but also longer trips.
Is it an absolute no-go if I do shorter drips during the week and mostly due long trips on the weekend? Can proper/more maintenance be a solution? Would appreciate any advice you can give.
Thanks
/Jakob
2013 Volvo V70 2,0 D3 - short trips?
Hi Jakob,
I have a 2011 D3 163 which I use daily for commute to work.
Daily commute is 30miles each way => 300miles/week; average 47 mpg.
Regular maintenance is critical for any engine but would not improve possible problems created by ineffective dpf regeneration.
Effective dpf regeneration may be a cause for concern on shorter journeys but depends on what your expected regular journey is.
