940 test wire location

Post by Pyrinex »

Hi there, I recently bought this 92 940 which has given me nothing but grief.
(Major hesitation on acceleration) I'm still in the process of finding the fault but I have just noticed a yellow wire hanging down under the I'd box with a clear rubber sleeve which looks the same as what's on the end of the other wires that enter the Obd1 box.
Any idea what number socket it should go into?
6, 2 and 3 are occupied.
The random lose wire is also showing fault code 1-2-2.
Anyone any ideas. Cheers.

Do you have Bosch LH 2.4....or Rex-I/Regina ? I don't recall a copper colored tube, with a yellow wire coming out of it. That yellow wire would not insert into OBD box. Where was photo taken in engine compartment?

See: Engine and OBD Diagnostic Codes

Diagram is for US 1993 940.....US has same shape as yours....later today, I'll take a look at mine. If your vehicle does not have ABS, then it appears only four wires were required.

Hiya, yes it's the bosch system and it does have abs and yes on the right of the engine bay attached to the strut tower.
It is a yellow wire but it's got a rubbery sleeve on the end of it which looks the same as the other 3 that are inserted In the test box.
The wire is just resting under the box.
Weirdly it's giving a code when I push the short black test wire into it which makes me think that it should be in the box.
I may be wrong.
Ok that would be good if you could have a look at yours. Thanks

Ain't nothing like that on 93-940 Rex-I/Regina. Considering how that yellow wire has not aged, someone may have installed a Flux Capacitor.
