2007 v70 2.5t Roof Rail

Post by Erster_Volvo »

Dear Forum,

I just brought a new 2007 v70 2.5t wagon and did not include the roof rail. So now I plan on buying one separate from a ventor. Does anyone know or also have pictures of how to attach it to the roof. What must I remove and cut. Thank you for your help

The roof trim has to come all the way off, then cut in sections just shy of the width of the roof rail parts that sit flush with the roof. Then the trim sections go back on....where the roof rails sit will cover up the cut sections. The roof trim will "snap" off....work it off from the rear of the car being careful not to damage them. The roof rails screw into existing holes that are under the trim pieces. Measure several times before cutting to make sure you have it right.

After reading this post I ordered the Eurorail kit for my 2006 V70 from Red Bank Volvo ($308 at the time) through e-bay and installed the rails.

It was very easy. As the man said, just measure carefully before cutting.
The OEM kit includes extra clips which hold the trim strip down and very good instructions. You will likely break a few of the old clips getting the trim strips off but they are very easy to replace. As per the instructions I also recommend covering the painted surface of the trim strip with a long strip of masking tape to protect it during the removal, cutting and replacement.

(Red Bank also had good prices on the crossbars.)

Thanks for the help.
