Are they not calibrated from the factory?

They are made for multiple cars so you need to bring them to spec for your car. The lore here is turbos like to be run with smaller gap! And 0.028 seems the bit the favourite

I'd you buy the right plugs they shouldn't need messing with. But checking never hurts.

Finally got around to installing OE load bars on the '00 V70 roof rails that I picked up off CL a couple of years ago, before I had a car with rails. All I needed was a T30 tamperproof Torx bit.

I also harvested the rear pillar speakers out of the '99 XC, which I think I will end up using as a parts car. The speaker "covers" were dummies with no actual holes for sound to exist, and they covered empty spaces in the pillars. Now I have real surround sound. Ha!

The base models never came with those d-pillar speakers? I never knew that. I figured they all had those!

I've always disconnected the rear speakers since I don't like having treble come from behind like that. I prefer the sound stage up front.

Just got home from a 1000 mile road trip. Had some interesting moments. Namely, I stopped to fuel up, popped the fuel door, but instead of the fuel door opening, all of the doors locked (with key in the ignition and chime sounding). Unfortunately, I did not realize this until after I closed my door. Had to wait 15 minutes for a tow company to come and unlock it. Watching them work really makes you feel uneasy about how easy it is to break into your car. :o To make up for that blunder, got 28mpg after 300 miles of mountain driving. :D Then on the last 200 miles home, nailed the biggest pothole I've ever seen (was hidden by a crest and couldn't swerve around it). Now have an exhaust leak wear the exhaust meets the turbo. Not bad enough to make the car run like crap, but bad enough to cause a rough idle and the sound is deafening. :x

This '00 V70 base seems to have a few corners cut. One of the first things I noticed was that the rear hatch doesn't have a release lever on the inside, which makes me want to swap the tailgate from the '99 XC.

Yesterday, I also added the Yakima cargo box from our "family van" (a '99 VW EuroVan my brother just installed new timing chains on!) which did not elicit the oohs and ahhs I was expecting from the kids. It took some trial and error to get it far enough forward so that the tailgate doesn't bump it.
