Still struggling to get keys made
Key fob 9166200
3 keys cut by Volvo work fine mechanically, but start/stall of course as they arent linked to immob yet.
Indie spent about 4 hours on VIDA and could not get all CANBUS modules to sleep, so could not program either keys to IMMOB or remote to door lock module.
He thinks Volvo will take my money and end up at same place
Options, ideas?
I tried to get info on which module won't sleep and didn't get far.
One thing though - My dome light problem is back, Dome lights will not go off, and doors will not lock with button - plungers go down and then pop back up after one second. Would active door lock module prevent CANBUS from sleeping??
I reached out to Yagger to see if he can help.
I hate having a car with one key.

Is your “key in the ignition” switch operating correctly?
The doors won’t stay locked if the car thinks the key is in.

Thanks, I’ll check that. I did hAve some trouble getting they key to release once, which is another reason a single key is scary.
I know I can lock the doors from the inside with the car running on my other 1999, though

IIRC-
Running, the doors will lock with the key in,
using the interior switches, but not the fob.
Engine stopped, door opened, then closed,
the car won’t let you lock the car at all if the
key is in the ignition.

Well it is cool having two 1999s in the driveway
The T5
Doors lock with button with key out
Doors lock with button with key in, engine running
Doors lock, then open with key in, engine off
Dome light off after 15 seconds of door closing and running
Dome light off 60 seconds after engine off, door open and closing
The S70
Doors lock with key out
Doors lock, then open with key in, regardless of state of engine off/on
Dome light does not go out on either of the above scenario.
The dome light is certainly not correct operation.

FWIW, My ‘98 won’t lock from the fob when it’s running.
If I start it to warm up, I have to lock and unlock it from
the driver’s door key cylinder. Right to Lock, Left to Unlock.

I:suspecting the lock system is the one holding up the VIDA from program mode.

I see some posts that doors must be closed to program fobs.
I'm sure Evita has a fault on one of her doors/ trunk as her done lights are intermittently full on.
Is a single door open enough to screw up fob programming?
My indie really should have caught this. I'm still grateful I paid for one hour out of four though.
