Hello all,
While enjoying the nice weather here for a chance, I decided to open my sunroof. About 3 minutes later the attached item fell on my shoulder. After recovering from a minor panic attack of thinking a snake fell in my car, I started looking for where it attaches. Can anyone help?
This is the only part, #18 (Volvo part number 6817622) that I can see that it could be, but is there really only 1 of them?
P80 Sunroof part 6817622 fell out, where does this go?

I may have found the only spot it could go... On the rear "drip tray", there is a rather sharp edge. It's hard to tell from the picture below, but it seems to fit, but it's very loose. There was a dirty and clean side to the weather stripping so one side was to the elements and the other inside. This has to be where it fits, but it doesn't seem to be very tight, or really seal anything... Perhaps it is just some sort of protector?

If someone could check their car by opening to the vent mode and seeing if that's where it's supposed to go I'd be very appreciative. Thanks in advance.

Standby Clark, checking...
ok, with the sunroof open I can't see anything.
Closed, I think I see it spanning the edge of the tray in the back.

Thanks, that has to be it. I can't see mine when the sunroof is opened, but I can see it from outside when it's tilted up in the vent position.
Is yours glued on, or is it loose?

For some reason the preview image of the strip above is inverted. When you click on my pic above, it shows the view from outside, looking in.

IT was pretty firm. I would thin coat with some black RTV, really sparingly, and push it back onto the rim and then go have a Swedish Meatball sub
I think it just acts as a water dam and prevents water from dumping on you if you stop hard in the rain.
If you still have the parts explosion open, please add the part number to the thread or title.

Thanks again, I will use a bit of sealant tomorrow. I added the part number (6817622) to the original message. Thanks!abscate wrote: ↑29 Mar 2019, 15:39 IT was pretty firm. I would thin coat with some black RTV, really sparingly, and push it back onto the rim and then go have a Swedish Meatball sub

Outstanding Red team.
Ive been trying to get part numbers into all threads because it makes searching a snap.
