Many of us that have used a 5/8" hose to replace the original pcv hose have also drilled the ptc hole bigger. This worked well for me.

When it's time for new rear brake pads, you might want to try the Bosch organics (~22.00). I have them on 3 850's and they are delightfully quiet and otherwise perform well. I haven't noticed much dust either.
