CEM and interior lights

I am a relative noob to this volvo platform (s40,V40) compared to 850/70 series. My question is, Is the interior lighting controlled by the Central Electronic Module? My problem is that all interior lights are on ALL the time. Any assistance or insight is greatly appreciated.

There are two generations of the S40/V40.
Platform X40: 1995–2004 (1st generation) aka Nedcar.
Platform P1: 2004 –2012 (2nd generation)

Yes, I'm aware. I'm posting in the 2000-2004 forum. I have an 04 V40 for the record. Again, thanks in advance .

I not seeing any 2004 V40. In 2004 the "V40" was badged as a V50.
Then again I'm seeing indicators that Volvo produced both X40 S40/V40 and P1 S40/V50 in 2004.
But no X40 V40 sold in North America.

Anyway ... Interior lighting for 2004 S40/V50. (P1)

I stand corrected. Its an 03. I haven't had it long. Sorry. What does the attached pertain to. It doesn't look like the right one for this car.

As stated that was the 2004 P1 S40/V50.

This is the 2003 X40 S40/V40. The file you want to get your hands on is Volvo TP3965202.

OK, so looking at the electrical schematic on Alldata, I believe my problem to be from a bad power door lock and alarm module. The signals from the door buttons that signal door open/closed feed into this module. I believe the module then controls the action of the cabin courtesy lights. I've seen examples of the lights going up and down variably as well, which would fit into my theory. The computer has lots of capability in terms of dimming etc. I'll get a computer and report back.
