Just picked up an "extra" remote locking key fob, the one I have works fine. Can I program so that both work? The FCC and other numbers match. Or do I have to use only one at a time, so to speak? Thanks.

Looks like I can program multiple fobs, then? I will give the new one a try hope it doesn't screw up the working one!

What may not be clear from the instructions is that you are programming the unit in the car to "hear" the fobs, there is no actual programming of the fobs. So when you get to step 3, you will want to move fairly quickly through the fobs. Once one fob is accepted by the car, quickly go to the next fob so that both are accepted before the car leaves the programing mode.

Not to be stupid, but I am programming an additional fob, the one I have currently works fine now. Do I have to re-program the one that already works? Or just leave it, and do the one that I just bought.

You not programing the remotes, you are pairing the remotes to the car. "Repeat the step 3 for each of the remotes" indicates you need to pair all the remotes each time you do pairing.

This only take a few minutes, what is holding you back?

Not successful after a few attempts, replacing the battery in remote #2, the newly acquired one will be the next step. Not eager to be in the position of losing function of both remotes, however likely/unlikely that might happen.

Even of you lose the pairing(s) you'll get it back, don't sweat it. I've done this many times, even the finicky ones where you must click the fobs repeatedly to get the car to pair with them, you can get it talking to a couple remotes with just a little persistence.
