erik, good advice, but would that have to be a 4.4 ECU from a 97 98 t5? could he use a 4.3 from a 96 850? would he even notice a difference if he didn't increase to 15g?

I'll check later for sure, I had a 850 t5 a few years earlier and it would pull way harder on top end than this one does so I'm pretty sure its 13T

You're on top of it yes -
- needs to be a 4.4 ECU from a 98 T5. NOT good to use a 4.3 in this case, it will fry the AC compressor.
- yep, the ECU alone is fine to drop in, but there wouldn't be any difference until/unless the bigger turbo were bolted on.

You can also put on a 15g or 16t, an HPT ECU and the injectors to match from the engine, and get more boost that way.

Does anybody here do any computer flashing or tuning? I have a local shop that can tune for me but they specialize in Subaru, Mitsubishi and other JDM I dont think they get a whole lot of euro and swedish built cars thru their shop.

Thanks for fixing that - 13g, not 13t !!

Also you highlighted the wrong line in the bottom graphic ( ) - OP has an XC not a GLT. But same turbo/engine yes!

Why are you bringing up the characters "15t" here ? Not following.

If you want to pay a tuner and have it done well, Vast is in my opinion the best option out there by far.
