2001-2007 XC-70 rear dimensions

Post by XXCC » Tue Apr 16, 2019 11:37 am

Hello,

I've searched the forum and haven't found a diagram like this for the 2001-7 XC70.

Anyone have a good breakdown of the rear dimensions of the 2000s XC70? and does it lay completely flat for camping?

Thanks for your help!
Eric

Thanks Rattnalle!

I've heard that the rear seat bottoms need to be removed for a completely flat surface. Is that an easy process?

Do you have any experience using your V70 as a camping car? I'm 6'1 and can lie completely flat in the '94 940 rear. I'm certain the XC70 is smaller but haven't read many accounts. Guess I need to test drive one and take a nap ; )

The seat bottoms fold up easily by pulling two tabs, acting as supports for the seat backs that fold flat resting on supporting hooks. So it's both flat and completely stable. I'm guessing you'll fit but without any room to spare. I've never tried to fit in my lying down. I've always got too much stuff including bikes with me inside the car when camping.

You could create a longer but not completely flat space by removing the passenger side rear seat bottom and then also folding the front passenger seat. You'd need a rigid surface underneath your mattress for it to be comfy. All of this also done easily without tools.

Hi Rattnalle,

Thanks for the tips. Good to know the seats fold down completely flat. When I test drive one I'll try it out and post the results here.
