PSA: Doylestown, PA 1999 Volvo S70 AWD Runs/Drives Doomed for Scrap

Was driving through Doylestown, PA today, and saw an interesting Volvo S70 sitting in front of a mechanic shop. Story is it was bought as a beater, but needed too much work for current owner. Shop owner said "needs struts, hole in muffler, rear driveshaft out, steering issue". Comes with 2 sets of wheels and tires, "dual exhaust", black interior in okay shape, egg crate grill, turbo moose stickers, black exterior, spoiler, no rust I could see, paint was dirty but looked great, and many other Volvo enthusiast related stickers (so assuming was enthusiast owned). VIN says it is a 1999 S70 AWD with B5254T engine, but owner said engine was recently replaced. Car is running and driveable. Would hate to see it scrapped and I'm on a roll this month saving Volvo's from the wrecker. I have the owners contact info, so PM me if interested. Needs gone ASAP, I'm sure no offer above scrap value refused.

Im just across the river, do you live near Doylestown? Im only doing 850 so ignore great deals like that unless it were a t5 wagon manual maby. I dont know if you noticed the five speed 850 in phia? it had to be gone today but I dont have a trailer nor long-distance AAA. seeing them less and less. wanted it to do a manual conversion on a wagon.

I travel a lot for work, so I don't really live anywhere anymore. I didn't really have an interest in an AWD S70, why I posted it here. Looks solid, though I'm sure it has mechanical issues. It only caught my eye because of the egg crate grill. I have an 850 Turbo waiting for me in MD. Also checking out an V70 T5M tomorrow outside of Philly. Don't need a 3rd project. Didn't hear anything about an 850 5spd in Philly that had to go today. I'm really only into the 2.3L HPTs, so I don't pay much mind to anything else.

I really need to install a tow package on my S70, so I can pick up some of these cars easier (and cheaper).

I don't think your be able to get a tow combination U-Haul would approve. A tow would most likely push the S70 around.

I pm'd you for contact info on this car. In particularly, I'm looking for a pristine driver side front fender, but could probably salvage other parts. I'd also like to collect some spare parts for my 2.3 HPT, so we may see each other around.

If only this wasn't my bad month (poor) at work! I have a speaking engagement in Philly in August! I would totally pick this up if this was February or June! If you come across anything else like this please DM me I'm in need of a second car in a few months.

I'm going to give this car a good look over tomorrow and report back. If it's in good shape and the worst problem is a bad angle gear (assuming that's why the driveshaft is pulled), then I think it would be a shame to send it to the crusher or part it out. Will confirm what engine is in it tomorrow.

you couldn't tow a volvo with a volvo unless its the 7000 pound xc90. they are too heavy. you cant tow any car with the similar car. A volvo Behind a 3/4 ton is even scary.

You guys sure about that? I see people use these Volvos to tow Volvos all the time. 240 towing a 940, 850 towing an 850, V70 towing an S70, etc... take a look at Robert's (rspi) recent video where he picked up his '98 V70R. He towed that with his 855 T-5R.

Once I get my V70R running properly I'd be happy to tow my projects with it. It already has a hitch.
