Oh my June if it's a Hitchcock movie you recall 'transvestite' from we might have to get you fixed up with a satanic mechanic.

Filters have a bypass valve. When the filtering surface gets clogged, excessive pressure opens bypass valve. Worst case dirty filter is not doing any filtering.

The Magnefine 3/8" Magnetic Inline Transmission Filter does have an internal bypass valve. Measuring the ATF temp with VIDA the temp didn't change after I installed this filter last December. I wouldn't of installed the filter if it didn't have the bypass valve.
