Has anyone tried swapping the 2007-2009 S60 steering knuckle and control arm into an earlier chassis?

I received the wrong part from Erie VoVo, and thought that it would be nice to go to a larger ball joint and the nicer castings used in the later model cars. I am working on my 2002 V70 XC, which has a bad swede lift and XC90 half shaft/CV axles. The smallish balljoint is enough of an issue that Volvo made an engineering/manufacturing change for just 3 short years of S60 production, and just one half year of the V70.

I am under the impression the XC70 uses a different control arm than the S60, even when comparing a 2002 S60 with a 2002 XC70. The ca on the S60 is thinner and has a different shape than on the XC70

For ball joints, use Lemforder, they provide the OEM for Volvo

Hey there Oragex...MDK here. I bought 2 control arms for my 2002 V70 2.4 non turbo only to install them on my 2004 S60 R AWD... If that helps. I think the difference is steel ones versus aluminum. Thanks for all your previous advise. Ciao....MDK rolling on
