I know of no other abnormalities in the car at all. Signal lights do work normally but I don't really know for sure about the high/low beam function. "Engine running is a different status on the network" is a very interesting statement to me. If the alternator proves not to be a problem that statement is going to haunt me. Thanks for your input.

So far there are no other known abnormalities. My daughter needed to take the car back to college so I rigged a toggle switch to control and isolate the FST1 relay. Other than the toggle switch for the wipers everything else in the car works normally even the windshield washer still works. Thanks for your input. It really does help. The SWM going "offline" or rogue I would assume is still a possibility.
