Ac compressor seized

Need about two hours to evaluate, pump down and test. Im a home office worker MON and FRI, pretty much every week - so those days work well for me.

Make sure its the compressor that is seized and not just the clutch bearing. Its a lot of work but if you drop the compressor (no need to break open the AC lines) you can remove the clutch and see if the compressor shaft spins and/or check if the clutch free spins on the bearing.

The clutch was spinning freely, it was only when I turned on ac that it stated burning up the belt. I ran with the ac belt on for 4 mos. until my dog bumped into switch and turned it on again decided to install ac delete belt. I will check to see if clutch (pulley) spins with and without ac engaged, pretty easy access with ac delete belt. I'll PM you

Im an idiot Glenn, if the clutch freezes up you would have burnt the belt up already, as you note.

The compressor has to be the culprit.
