2000 S70 Idle Issue
2000 S70 Idle Issue
My car is having an issue when stopped, shift lever is in "D" and foot on the brake, where it has this drop in the idle by only 100 RPMs (900 to 800 then back to 900) for only a split second. And it only happens every 10-15 seconds when stopped as I described. It doesn't happen in "P" or "N" and zero problems with acceleration. Anyone have any ideas what would cause that issue only when the car is stopped, foot on the brake and car in "D"?
You might have a vacuum leak some where. When the car is in nuetral or park there's no "load" on the engine. I'd check the brake booster or the check valve at the booster ( if it has one) or just have some one do a " smoke" test. My opinion though...MDK

Have you tried taking it out of gear into neutral and coming to a full stop to see if the idle behaves the same?
Agree with MDK. Franzium you posted in 2 forums and I asked the following question in your other post. It does relate to vacuum and/or load.
Have you tried taking it out of gear into neutral and coming to a full stop to see if the idle behaves the same?
