Crankshaft timing pulley position

Hello,

What is the procedure to install timng pulley on crankshaf? Lets conisder the shaft was rotated. How to find the coresponding position between the timnig pulley and the crankshaft?

It is, unless the splines are ruined. (Very rare)

Clean the splines by pulling a rag with carb cleaner through and you will see there is a thick spline that has to match the wide notch.

It will only go on one way.
