Just looking at the before and after and thinking I may just replace that seal. I also removed the timing belt upper cover and saw everything is reasonably dry.
Obviously the AWD angle gear will make things fun, but I believe this should be a decent job for me to do. Far easier than removing the ghost damper of hell bolt.
