Really? I thought the ECM had to be "Virgin". As in refurbished or new. I read multiple threads about people buying used ones and the dealer telling them that they cant program it because it already had software on it.precopster wrote: ↑23 Apr 2019, 22:47 A used ECM with the same Bosch part number can be cloned to suit the car. You'll need a Windows laptop and a Dice tool. I can fill you in and point you in the right direction with regard to who can do this for you when/if the time comes.
This something new? Or the dealers just aren't allowed to use this trick?
And an update: I cleaned the ECM with baking soda, rinsed with distilled water and then rinsed with ISO alcohol to remove all the corrosion. Got it looking brand new.
It didnt help, some IC must of been burnt out from the shorting, or there is some corrosion that i cant get to.
So going to need another ECM.
