A bunch of questions about my new-to-me S70....

Well I couldn't find flexidip locally, so am trying my luck with plastidip for the drip molding. Just doing one side to start. Pics attached, and yes I know I used too much tape.

I have a small rust spot where the paint got scratched (only one! whoo hoo!), any MVS wisdom on a good fix? Where to get touch up?

The results of the plastidip were very mixed. Very hard to remove the masking tape without peeling the plastidip. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're much more crafty and careful than I am. I'm guessing good electrical tape would do a better job, and I'll probably try it on the other side.

Does anyone have a solution to the shrinking arm rest issue caused by the vinyl shrinking in the door panels? Both my front doors have it, pic attached. I was thinking about cutting a slit and then patching with another piece of vinyl?

Also, I'm getting a warning light on my dash that a light is burned out somewhere. There isn't one as far as I can tell. Any tips on that by chance?

That wrinkle is a natural part of a Naug animal and the variations in shape reflect its individual character, not flaws.

Someone probably put a mismatched bulb I; one of the holders, which detects current differences, ergo the lamp.

Good point, and I grew up in NY so I know of what you speak. But my previous car, Tito, got a couple of rust spots on the roof that I ignored. Who'd a thunk they'd get worse? Well this past winter (and here in Northern California, "winter" means "rain") those rust spots turned to leaks. Right over my girlfriend's seat of course, which led to a very grumpy girlfriend. So at this point at least I'm trying really really hard to be rust free.

A burnt out bulb that stumps a lot of people is the one in the center third brake light - is it working on this car?

Since I posted pics of doing the plastidip repair to the drip molding, I thought I'd post a pic of how it came out. At first I thought it came out kind of rough, since it got a little scuffed when I was peeling off the masking tape (under the rack crossbar for example). But I've come to really like it, and I think the blemishes are the kind of thing only I'd notice. This is 4 or 5 layers of Plastidip, prepped by removing the old vinyl or whatever that was with a razor, then cleaned it with degreaser.

@TheOtherside: rubbing alcohol is your friend. It takes awhile to get that weird coating off but it does come off. Careful of your window switches though, I rubbed most of the paint off my driver side window controls. Not sure if that was inevitable or not.

I like the plasti dipped rails, I think that came out great.

To address your "rust" spot I would take a dremel and remove as much rust as you can without cutting a whole. Then get some Rustoleum primer to fill the hole. I would highly suggest brushing that on vs. trying to spray.

For touch up paint I use this company:

I've had very good results with their paint.

You might have to do some sanding to get it perfect and then polishing of course.
