98 V70XC-Do I need to upgrade brakes for 16" wheels

Afternoon.

Sorry, this may be a silly question. I wanrt to move up to 16" oem wheels on my 98 XC, my brakes now are 280mm (front). Would I have to upgrade rotors to larger size? Front & Rear?

Thought I read somewhere, 16" needed larger rotors.

This is my first post, hoping to be here for quite a while.

Are your rolling diameters going to change?
In a word, no. The car doesn’t care about your
rim size. And your tire OD is pretty limited, so
I wouldn’t worry about brakes

302 brakes require 16" or greater wheels due to caliper size. You are just fine with 16".

It’s the opposite. Moving down in wheel diameter might cause a change in brake rotor diameter.
