850 speed sensor wire for Nav package

Post by grin »

Hi, I'm looking for the speed signal wire and I'm not sure what of the many speed wires is the right one.

I've downloaded the comprehensive manual pdfs and I'm still not sure what the right wire is. Looking at the instrument panel pdf I see 4 wires that it could be.

Is it the A2 Green/yellow, A3 Yellow/Brown or the A6 Grey/White or the A7 Yellow Black.

I hope it's the A7 Yellow/black because on page 20 it shows it going to pin 7B on the radio (Fig 15), and this seems easier to get to than a wire in the instrument panel, but I'd like some confirmation if anyone knows.

This was covered for the S70: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/chat/p ... eed+sensor.

If you need the speed sensor wire for the same reason then it is the yellow/black from terminal 7 on the radio.

As I stated in the earlier post, no warranty is given or implied as we did not find out whether or not it worked on hertfordnc's vehicle. By his silence we can only assume it did.

I hate to bring back a thread this old but I have to ask if someone knows the location for a 95 850? I have checked this method and pin 7 on my harness is used for the front tweeters not a speed sense wire.

I have heard there is a spade on the back of the cluster for it but I can't find any confirmation. Can you help at all with this one please? I want to get this done so I can get my install finished once and for all!

Thanks guys!

You can get speed signal at ECC 30 pin connector at position 24 a gray/white wire.
