Xheart: On your Base System Device. Go to Properties\Details\Hardware Ids. Copy the top Hardware Id to the clipboard. Paste the Hardware Id in to Google Search. You might be able to find what it is and the correct drivers.

Did you select the Partner Group AME before trying to read the vehicle?
If that fails try manually entering the VIN number of the 2001 V70XC ( with Partner Group AME selected ).

A screen shot after trying to read the vehicle might be helpful.

Thanks again Rick!
VIDA/DiCE is working. As jimmy57 would say, she has no choice but to work with me -- screen shot is coming.

In addition to ETM test, there is also a test to check for brake pedal and gas pedal being "ACTIVE" and responsive.

Okay, time to ask for help... because I'm at a loss. I've had to uninstall/reinstall VIDA at least 3 times now, and each time it ends up going into a loop of not starting (VIDA monitor shows not ready or error, can't remember excactly) and now I can't even get it to install.

When I install part two of the VIDA RePack, everything seems to go smoothly until the end, when I get the VIDA NOT OK message at the installation summary screen. I copied the info I found in the installation log. Everything looked just fine until the end...

I added bolt font to the two entries on the log that looked suspect. Any idea what I could be doing wrong? Every time I've installed it before, following the instructions on the first post on page 6 of this thread, I had no problem.

Open the SQL server, Configuration Tools/ SQL Configuration Manager.
Make sure that ‘SQL server (SQLEXPRESS)’ and ‘SQL Server (VIDA)’ are both set to ‘automatic’.
Try again. If all else fails completely uninstall and eradicate SQL server then start over.
