No it cranks fine, in fact I have had to recharge the battery after all my efforts with the switch. In fact the wires can start the car just not the switch

Ah. The key has to be in the ignition, even if you arent using it to turn the electrical part. This car (starting in 1999) sniffs for the key and it will start and shut off the engine in 2 seconds if they key isnt found. After that, it will just crank without firing.

Here's the ignition switch straight from the '98 diagrams,
along with the color code chart to help you rat this thing out.

Here is what I have
50 GN-R
X Y-VO
15A GN-Y
30 R-SB
15L BL-Y
30l R
15. Y- W
S. Y
With this it engages the starter in the on position

If I switch the last 2 to
15. Y
S. Y-W

I have the starter engage at the right time but the ignition isn’t hot to start the car.

I have something inconsistent here. Any thoughts??

A couple of things

1 thank you
2 my list above is incorrect
3. I had no green and red, and my yellow and yellow and white were switched.
4 I had blown the #1 fuse
But mostly thank you for your patience
