Cranks like it's out of time

Help!!!! I have a 2005 v50 t5 6 speed turbo. Inline 5. Developed an oil leak overhead then died. Now it cranks over sounding like it's out of time. All timing marks are up as they should be. Timing belt is new. This is my first Volvo and so far I'm thinking I have a lemon. I love the car but I'm not a Volvo mechanic. Please help!!? I guess I posted in the wrong place maybe???
