That lil thing is awesome, is it a piece of angle aluminum?

Used along with drilling, that would work great!

Yes it is.

My failure on brake job.. installed this wrongly and needed replace it.

Here is then Radio mod done only removing bottom plate and doing next wiring... Jumper wire if asked from me does the 'dummy' casette bypass. Music should ring then on B side via aux.

Bad number one is that if phone has not traditional way detecting the plug (a microswitch) but instead electrical then restarting radio is needed be done wake up phone detection.
Secondly you could trim the levels if you break down fully the radio.. with this you don't so levels are completely out.. need turn knob up for this..

P.S. I did make this picture note for myself as i replaced the horrible audio cable used here.

Still planning the CD changer ways as i get interest enough.

This year spring seat / support thingy did fail at top and rear shocks replacements was needed for the yearly MOT.
I suspect highly that before failure i hit accidentally a speed bump with a speed it made fail then.

Spring jumped off its position originally. It started after jump little time later make horrible noise at turning at low speed or parking lot..

Image

Image

I did order new shocks at rear and one local Volvo friend passed me almost new sets at front (spring and shocks combination/ struts) as he has had multiple Volvos so had too extra parts :)

Sadly always should check these top mountings which created headache because on way here shipping company lost package for two weeks in their shelfs so got some delay and i walked then.

Image

And this happened... Easy on those because they have just slim nut spot welded in place at bottom so while i tried get my socket in there due compilations it disappeared as a whole  ...

Image

Rivet nuts to the rescue!
Image

Image

And then finally getting back together.. but my mind did not process through all information before installation of the front struts...
Image

Front sets are from XC90! So my front is now been lifted lols  need lift back too?
Image

Bonus repair: Rear wiper had totally jammed axle.

Image

Image

While removing axle inside i broke of course threads and thing did broke in half so i did add carefully as possible a hole with threads top of it and use a screw instead of nut there which was now impossible.

Image

So after unplanned hit backs like weak axle and the mechanism was too little trouble as i moved it without thinking how it should be at start position...

Happy tail
Image

Then for other news.. this project i got too finally to life couple days ago.

Old owner got frustrated or made accidentally large area damage on board.. lots of missing components and traces broken too.. and there was one broken chip which didn't send signal when needed. I suppose it was the original problem
Image

Then i waited get a charger and got one but it turned to be not fitting for this. Seller sent wrong one when i selected 85W and person sent 60W and told me then to "seek understanding" oh well i was not gonna wait anymore so lets modify one of mine and "seek understanding". (I made a magsafe reader so i was able check it as i was curious)

Image

I did attach direct wires so that i can then plug my own magsafe "faker" to middle pin.
After some time then and brain storming i got to macbook to think that its 85W and genuine one so i was able fix it in some couple nights when as i had free time i got to made this macbook a great again (included lots of frustration and giving up too).

Suck it then as it lighted up finally. No GPU fault too thats bonus.
May iOS developing start! As i get battery and good ssd.
Image

P.S. I really starting to be enough of listening radio talking and make that cd changer hack. That aux mod is just awful to work with honestly. Hope to find extra time.

Finally when i was not able see even fuel level in night due burned bulbs in dash was time to take it out and fix all (including broken wheel inside odometer)... or broke all. Thanks of videos of Robert example i got comfortable enough to take it out.

Image
Neighbors Volvo front of me is not making me jelous... but i want that T letter badly

I thought why not so i spend day to try out things and i think i did found bug which makes Combi to push engine temp to red but it resets at ignition turned back on to normal. Prank poor mechanic?
Image

Not all mentioned exact bulb type so i included in app these plastic wonders:

Warning indicators and Combi backlight: 1.2W B8.5D
Warning indicators CAN be used B8.4D but they wont fit on Combi backlight, only indicators.
Backlight: 3W W3W W2.1x9.5D -not plastic, housing enables to replace only bulb-

During work this accident happened and i started hate myself a bit:cry:
Image

But thanks to Loctite of two part plastic glue which impressed myself at least so far with the strength. Surely more than super glue just as when i cleaned extra glue off with my IPA contained qtip it started smoke  still the bottom piece needs be added back somehow and get right solution for wood pieces..
Image

For rolling missing KILOMETERS i used dremel knock off and it took over one hour because 50k missing  replaced the teeth wheel and back to rolling now. I am very happy as can see low fuel light too so clearly and remind me everything.

One stupid question in my mind when putting new wheel was that should it be freely rolling or glue to axle and answer was free wheeling if anyone thinks same level as me :?:

That hammer on floor in picture and very determined mind (don't know hammer exact name in english.. it has like sand inside it.. i like it much myself to get best punch and wont bounce in impact).
Thanks for the explanation. Over here in the US, we call that type of hammer a "dead blow" hammer.

Welcome and thanks! Sometimes lost with translation sorry.

Peevarino wrote: 13 May 2019, 05:03 Mind posting a couple more pictures of the “anvil” you made to hammer those out?
No problem. Free to use if helps anything

I had too longer 90mm bolt pair too to help just fiddling.. then put tighter ones as could. Anyway its just "hurry i want job done" prototype.

For the car..

*I can be totally wrong or this is pure accident of couple things happening same time but..*

When i changed summer tires i had instant tyre shake or even steering wheel shaking at low city speeds.

But as i did change the aluminum wheel center plastic hub 'logo' thingy to new which were super tight fit there... result was shaking steering on low city speeds was noticeably gone (NOT FULLY but the MOST amount was GONE).
The one on passenger side was super loose. Just pop with finger poke off.

No.. yes.. Something fell off as i did install those new caps back on?

Okay got finally "finished" SC-805 CD changer arduino aux bluetooth thingy project. Here is all i got at. Enjoy and be free build one and enjoy better AUX mod.

SC- radios has Mbus and newer HU- has Melbus. Here focus on first one.

Nicely detailed info of Mbus is here: http://www.hohensohn.info/mbus/index.htm
Arduino code: https://github.com/Olstyle/MBus

Which from i modified slightly (less connection droppings and pin configurations etc) after i noticed it was pretty complete for my usage even as i got my code working one level i may finish it later as i looking perfection and i want do it different style as there was things i disliked.. if have free time more:

First biggest problem was reading the port signal as if you do incorrectly like i did first due not so completely documented pin out of CD changer input port.. you will end up random messages (glitching) which does not make sense at all (there is mixed or extra - pulses).

To fix noises remember connect DATA.G to GND so you don't waste time hunting for wrong messages.

I copied text from PCB what each one is.
P.S. RIN, SIG.G and RIN is what you want to use for as AUX pins.
Image

Shortened i ended up using this kind of solutions for my arduino.

I wanted use my bluetooth module board play, next, back buttons as way to control my phone music player via Radio next, back etc buttons so those are included in build and schematics.

Image

And end results with homemade diy connector.

Image

Audiophile quality right here. Signal cables and gold coated pins!

Image

Image

I find this audio module very good compared a way earlier one which local market sold as Aux bluetooth module which then sounded garbage in my mind as music clearly lost couple bits there and here.

For that bad market one.. Bluetooth manufacturer at least was honest:

Image

Entry level? am i joke to you? I want all in Pro industrial heavy duty HQ hologram sticker quality!

Later i will still add Input-to-output isolation 5V output module for as clean as i can power supply here even though this module does not pass much noise from cheap 5V charger. Like in past cassette mod does easily on phones with charger plugged in. I could count revs with my ear from distorted ground voices over radio. Eh ruined music.

After having isolation module i find out it is from 1999 so lets see does it how well then when i get time to fix it in car.

Always if possible reuse old volvo windscreen wiper frames (and adapter).. pain to find fitting and good ones for these. Good that i heard can be done so i kept one original in storage.

Bad new-ish frame squashes just the wiper
Image

Original volvo brand. With new filament!
P.S. This wiper arm is from some V70 2004 year(?) i forgot as i replaced it. Works well if you have giving up arm. No need bend ever anymore or do other tricks.
Image

.. Need now hunt another volvo original one somehwere  And waiting silicone filament to come.

Hey. I'm trying to install a bluetooth module in my SC-802 as well. I managed to activate the CD changer input. Thanks for the schematic, that helped me a lot. I am now waiting for a Bluetooth module from China. Do you want to share your Arduino code? I would be really grateful for that.
