Nothing like the 30731007 on the 2006 XC70.

The only thing that is remotely like 30731007 on the 2006 XC70 is Crankcase Breather Pipe Assembly which is P/N 30731068 and cannot be confused with 30731007, they look quite different.

30731068 is used on on the 2005-2007 XC70 and the 2005-2009 S60.

I am aware of the original P/N, but the price is ridiculous which is why people find alternatives.
Now, I am sure I read somewhere that the 30731007 can be used on the XC70.
I will try to find the source of this information and post it here.

About leaving the oil pan out when working on the PCV, one advantage may be it's easier to clean well the oil drain channel to the oil pan that was clogged - this channel goes up into the block and into the PCV box. And who knows, maybe after 1-2 days you may want to check another thing at the bottom of the engine block, so it's perhaps good to put back the pan at the end of the PCV job

I found some references to savaging the Banjo hose barb from a 30731007 to fix a 30731068 but not much in the way of details.

Need to find a Banjo hose barb that will work. Take the dimensions and look for one on eBay.

In this moment I m stuck to remove the 17mm banjo bolt, I do not have a stubby wrench, so I guess there are no alternatives to remove it with an ordinary wrench, as I have no space to angle it.

If you are choking on the $200 price tag for the 30731068. MTC makes an aftermarket that goes for ~1/2 the prices. ÜRO makes a rebuilt kit to replace the hoses and clamps, go for ~ $50.00.

Count yourself lucky the Crankcase Breather Pipe Assembly on a 2.9L is $400.

Actually you don't need 30731007.
All you need is a silicone hose of appropriate I.D.

I asked our friends at FCP if the PCV Nipple P/N 30731007 would work on the XC70 2005-2006 and below is their answer to my question:

Although not originally intended for the vehicle, it's been known to work well. The video we provided shows everything you need to know in order to install.

It looks like there are no changes needed other than following their video
