Which line to the fuel rail? 2002 Volvo S40

2002 Volvo S40 turbo American Spec.

Ok, I'd like to be able to blame someone else

....but after a pint or three I pulled out the evap purge AND fuel lines....and forgot which one is the fuel line. My guess is that it's the center one in the photo (if the photo uploads).

If not, at the firewall there are thee lines. One is fuel pump to fuel rail, and the two others I believe are evap canister and purge. I'm only interested in finding which is the the fuel pressure line.

I'm only 2-1/2 pints in, so take my advice with caution.

I just looked at my '01 and agree that the center hard line in your photo feeds the fuel rail.
Damn tough to see those little buggers down there.

From the picture it looks like the lines coming from the engine going back? If so, they should be fuel, fuel return and purge. If you blow into them (or apply a bit of pressure or vacuum) and press the shrader valve on the fuel rail you'll know by the change. I'm not sure what the fuel return line will do with the pressure regulator intending flow being the other way.

For future, use a paint marker or nail polish to mark your lines before taking them off. Even 6 pints in and seeing double they should match up or you'll have fancy nails the next day.

As soon as the monsoon-like rains and wind stops(gusts over 65 MPH), I plan to go out and put the most-excellent advice of you two guys to the test.

If my guess, and alsnertzes keen eyesight were wrong, DeadErics advice on blowing into the tubing will likely point to the line connected to the pump, I'm feeling lucky though, so want to test the middle one first...…
