I've only installed Volvo serpentine belts twice so with less experience just took more effort.

The Volvo 30731808 belt is no doubt a softer rubber material than the Contitech 30731808 belt.

Did you have any luck?

FCP has a tech note on using the longer sweep belt on the -1998 engine and moving the position of the idler pulley to reroute the belt for better fitment. I’m mobile and will trying to find and link end of day

Recently did a serpentine belt on a 02 S60 2.5T, Conti CON-6DK1841 was quite tight but with full swing on the tensioner did get it on with a bit of a fight.

I did order a Goodyear 6DPK1841 off Amazon earlier as I was in a rush to get the car back to my kid. When I found the tensioner bearing rough returned it so I could order the Conti belt and INA pulley. Goodyear belt did appear super tight when I attempted installing, had some poor reviews too.
