Did some work on my T5, so she doesn't feel too neglected. Rotated the tires, replaced my broken driver's side turn signal (held on with tape), checked all the fluids (need to buy more oil to add), installed and stashed an emergency hood release cable, and did another partial flush of the power steering fluid (ATF). Also painted and installed a new license plate bracket on the back with chrome acorn nuts. The old bracket was rusting away into nothing. While it was off, I cleaned up, polished, and waxed everything behind the plate. Not that anyone will ever see it, but at least I'll know (pride of ownership and such).

Wait. People wax their cars without removing the license plate? Savagery.

Add another item to the used car inspection list.

The attachment of the rear plate on the p80 is an engineering beauty. The two screws recess into the trunk/tailgate lid so they don’t corrode

Bruno ... make sure you don’t have those resistance pigtails in your headlight circuit. Then add a spare bulb to your glovebox or spares kit

When I send a car to college it’s gets new headlights and the working ones go as spares

I've got my plates stuck on with adhesive. Low profile and no stuff sticking out or ugly holes in the plate. So it does stay on.

I thought about my Volvos while I'm on the other side of the planet from them.

Would rather be wrenching on and driving them.

Decided to take a break from the driving light installation on my S70 and finally start driving the thing. Other than an idle problem it runs beautifully.
Will hook this up to Vida soon to see what I've got and maybe attempt another emissions test.

The threads on my screws weren't corroded, but the heads sure were. Couldn't even tell what they were suppose to be: torx, hex key? Had to turn them out with a vicegrips.

Forgot to mention, I also sanded the rust and applied touchup paint to the area around the holes for the screws. Do I get a prize for waxing behind the plate? :D

I used galvanized electric fence wire looped around the hole in the release tab. Then snaked it down between the inner and outer fender, and secured a loop with duct tape to the charcoal canister. Hidden and out of the way, but easy to grab in an emergency. Will try to get pics later.

OOOOOH and big news for today. I may have just secured a full set of used ABM projectors for $200!!

Eased a YALE of their Ivy League cash, retrieving a substantial portion of tuition paid earlier with interest.
Four sales calls!

Hopped on I91, Made Bradley INTL by 1742 and picked up globe-trotting Muffin at 1800, homecoming for first time this year..

Is that CVVT starting to growl again ( used onewith 50k on it postbox install)
