This is the 5 cylinder, regular engine. Not the turbo.
While driving, the vehicle stopped accelerating and the gas pedal become unresponsive. The car coasted to a stop however continued to run. I tried turning it off and turning it on again, however it would not start and has not since. Also the oil light turned on. It cranks and I can smell fuel, however it never starts.
I have changed the crankshaft position sensor and there was no change in the vehicle’s condition.

Had something similar on a different car recently. The alternator had seized up. Have someone check when you try to start the car that the alternator is spinning with the belt. If not, this could be a fairly simple fix.
