99 S70 T5M - decision help

Hallo,

Blown exhaust valve(mechanic came to that conclusion), car still has a good clutch but engine rattles and shakes like crazy, and stinks from the exhaust of course.
Also needs a fresh driver front fender and turn signal, and maybe a power steering pump. A/C doesn't work.
290k on the car. Black on Black. No rust, barely any bubbling up around some unnoticeable spots.

Fix or sell/junk?

I've left the car in my driveway for the winter and turned it on a couple times, one day I come back and some animal had made a nest in the engine bay and chewed around on the hood insulation. Cleared that out and started it again.
Anyways I still like the car and won't get anything for it if I sell it.

Would you guys repair it? It'll run me about 3-4 k repairing it up here in Toronto.
If there was a chance in hell that I could do it myself I would try but I hear this is a two man job.

Sellable here for a MT conversion but pretty much near end of life as a car with that work order list. Completely beyond economical repair other than DIY.

Top end head repiar about 1000 US/CAD - worth it to keep on road IMHO

Is that roughly how much it costs where you are ? Or do you mean if it costs me no more than 1k I should keep it using DYI myself?

You could take the head off, rework it, for about 1000. that could get you another 5 years of operation.
