No springs, just simple hose. The hose will bend accordingly.

I did this in 2015, 2 years ago, so far so good.
Just get a dremel and cut the crimp, then re-use the barb fitting.
Very very easy mod. Do it and you will see that it is easy.

I used a pair of 5/8" hose barb elbows to clear the turbo where the hoses pop out of the firewall.

When I saw these the other day at Advance Auto I imaged they could work to make the bends, too

No need to complicate things. All you need is the Gates heater hose.

- Once you dremel the crimp off, you have the factory barb fittings; no need to buy barb fittings from Hone Depot etc.
- New Gates hose + clamps on, you are done.

Please review the DIY I posted above. Very very simple mod.

Hmmm. That pretty much covers everything. It’s bad when you can’t make a hose which carries....nothing

My Volvo hoses are made in Czech Republic and Poland for cooling group, Evap hoses recently replaced

I think we need a guinea pig. Poor URO (which seems to have gone through a sort of metamorphosis a few years ago) gets so much innuendo. Has anyone actually tried those heater hoses? Are they soft or firm rubber, fabric reinforced or not? Somebody could rig up a fitting to adapt an air hose to a pair of the URO brand hoses, stand back and gradually increase pressure up 100 pounds and hold it there for a while. See what happens. One problem with that approach: you could get a random item that would hold up whereas a sample of 30 or so might reveal some flaws. The price is surely attractive.

I bought a URO elbow the other day, mine was torn. It connects a pcv hose assembly to the air box snorkel. Volvo part is $10 unless you get the assembly then it's $50 plus the dipstick o ring and the intake gasket and probably injector o rings depending on how they look.

In my case, if I'm taking off the intake, I'm replacing it with the NA one with the NA throttle body and the throttle cable change and the throttle body intake tube replacement and the injectors are out so let's upgrade those and well... PO said he did the PCV system 5k ago and this elbow is torn so what else wasn't changed of damaged so let's just redo the PCV system with quality stuff... and he also did the timing belt 5k ago, may as well make sure those are quality parts. Since I'm doing the timing belt, better put the NA cams in with seals and what not...

I spent $3 on a URO elbow shipped. I'm gonna do all of that other stuff in the next year anyway. The wife is happy I didn't spend all the money and time under the hood on graduation week. My car has boost again so I'm happy(ish.)

I guess URO has a place after all?

It's happened many times. Probably not every time, but definitely many times. Want your car to be the next for it to happen on?

I've got a pair of URO heater hoses that a member sent me when I bought their whole parts stash. I'll never use them, anybody want them? You pay $2 (that's $1 per hose) plus shipping. I don't remember if they are for turbo or NA but can look if someone is interested.
