Hey guys, for the past couple of weeks my car has been shaking when I accelerate. It is very bad when going around a curve turning to the left, and if I have a passenger it gets worse. I have gotten my tires changed and balanced and that did not fix it. Does anybody have any idea what is causing this?

Miles on your vehicle, please.
Drive next to a wall and listen for bad CV joint(s)-clicking.
Could be an engine mount?
Maybe wheel hop exacerbated by shot front struts?

CV joints and engine mounts, like Georgeandkira said, are my two guesses. I have dealt with shaking during acceleration in my '01 V70 twice; the first time it was due to a worn right inner CV joint and the effect was really bad, it shook everyone and everything in the car. The second time was due to a bad right motor mount. In that case it was more of a vibration and growling, not as severe but still a bother.

Shake upon acceleration may also be worn control arm bushings. Easy check www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1QaJbyjr2s
Either are old, either been replaced with some cheapies. Recommended brands Lemforder, Genuine and perhaps IPD HD - off sites like Fcpeuro or Ipdusa

It has 276k on it, and it's doesn't really click when turning except for a single pop when turning all the way left

That pop is the steering limiter, plastic piece on the control arm. See how worn it is an put some grease on it. You'll need to swap it if replacing the arm

I think it is the inner cv joint on the front passenger side. I looked and the inner boot is totally ripped and there is a good bit of play

That’s probably it. You can’t just get a boot kit and clean out the joint, repack with grease , and pit OTT back in

Drive shaft will have to come off though.

That's what mine looked/sounded like. You can try repacking the joint and replacing the boot, but you may end up needing to replace the axle as I did.
