2002 V70 XC Reduced engine performance

Post by dha89 »

So I just changed the transmission in my 02 V70 x/c. When i first started it it ran terrible. I realized the maf wasnt plugged all the way in so I fixed that and it ran great. Went back out the next day to finish a few minor things and when I started it was back running terrible. It's running really rough at idle and if I put the accelerator to the floor it just goes up and dow between 1000 and 1400 rpm. I unplugged could packs to see if there was a change and on 3 of them there was no change. So I then checked the codes and there were no misfire codes. The codes I keep getting are p0068, p0014, p0123, and p0223. I've tried unplugging and unplugging up sensors and cleaning the maf and nothing worked so far. It's just a really confusing situation since I had it running fine the day before. Someone help plz.

You should check the induction pathway from turbo on for a leak, split hose, or loose clamp.

That kind of running is often just an induction leak.

When your MAF was disconnected your car guesses the fuel injection based on rpm, and it is pretty good at that.

With the MAF plugged back in, it uses the metered value, and any leaks then mess it
up.

Quick check - turn car off, unplug MAF, and start again. If it idles ok, that points to an induction leak.
