2001 V70 T5 turning key get nothing
I have a new battery . Sometimes when I turn key I get nothing . Then will wait sometimes 1 minute ,sometimes 1 hr. Car will miraculously start like nothing wrong . Showing no codes at mechanic . Thought it was the immobilizer but no codes came up. Could key cause this? Frustrated to no end. Car runs great otherwise. Just started happening. Am going to try using the newer key. Any suggestions much appreciated.

Not the key.
Check/replace starter relay. Get a 2nd person to tell you if the starter relay clicks with fuse cover off. If it clicks and doesn't start replace it, if no start again go further along the route to the starter solenoid. A test light to check for voltage/load is indispensable.
