HELP buying interior trim for code B951 BEIGE

Post by darylrobert »

G'day guys i am currently swapping out my manual passenger (left side) seat with a powered drivers (right side) seat. i have done the easy part of switching seat bases and rails and installed the motor in the passenger backrest and also small DPDT relays to use with the factory switches...however buying the correct color trim online is proving a challenge.

i have already purchased part number 9174419 that fits but is wrong color, the seller described as being BEIGE however its grey (volvo for oak ) my trim code for my xc70 2001 is B951 (volvo for sand/beige)

Volvo have stamped 9174419 on all colors with this part , the correct part number i hope is 9196009 LH and that is not stamped on the part..that makes sense?

ALL i need to know is this LEFT side as drawing shows and does XX5X mean color sand/beige for trim code B951

Interior codes are not a specific color they are a color schedule. The schedule may contain more then one color.

9196009 is the side panel in color sand/beige.

XX5X is a mask, the Xs are wild cards. XX5X is for all Interior codes that the fit the mask.
In this case, all Interior codes with a 5 in the third position.

You could savage that side panel out of any of these cars with a 5 in the third position of the interior code.

2001 - 2004 Volvo S60.
1999 - 2004 Volvo S80.
2001 - 2004 Volvo V70.
2001 - 2002 Volvo V70 XC.

If I had designed the part number system. I would of created a base part number that had no color factor. Then flavored the part number with a mask for the different colors. Example format: 9196009-XX5X, (Base Part Number-Interior Code Mask).

But with your system how’s would you sell a subscription service to sort out those already logical part numbers?

Um ... I figure the savings from not needing to process returns would cover the lost of profits from a subscription service.
