The antenna on my 99 s70 was no longer retracting so I decided to swap it for a fully functioning antenna from a 98.

And I discovered yet another difference between 98s and the 99-00 models.

The antennas are the same, but the drainage tube at the bottom of the antenna, the antenna mounting bracket and even the top nut/mount are different between the two years/generation of cars.

Thankfully, I could swap them all over from my broken 99 antenna to the 98 but I was surprised at how many changes there were on just the antenna.

That's ok. What is your process for fixing it? I tried using a photoeditor to rotate and save the picture. From now on my camera button needs to be on the right for landscape to be in the correct orientation.

You have to strip the EXIF data that rides along inside the file. I Export in Photoshop to achieve this. There are probably a few dozen ways (apps) to do it.

Using a "dumb" editor like MS Paint usually works for me.

Ah, looking closer what I thought was a gnawed evaporator is in fact a bar code sticker.

It is still impressively gunked up.

Yeah I removed that too. And for some reason a lot of paper straw wrappers.
