Purchased in Northern New Jersey.
That was fast! Off Topic if you don't mind? Son is going to school in Virginia this year.

1) Will short drives on Campus be a problem for the PCV?
2) Or should I let him have an 03 Lexus GS300?
3) Any rust in the engine bay or suspension on your new Volvo (northern cars in general)?

Thanks.
Blessings,

BKM

I believe short trips are more taxing on the pcv system. As for the Volvo I just purchased the PO averaged about 8k a year. It passed glove test. I will be giving it a crankcase, combustion chamber, and fuel tank Seafoam treatment along with some highway mileage. Timing belt never done (under mileage 120k, over time 10 yr.), so I do that first. Wagon was garage kept and no noticeable rust underneath.

Is that true with all vehicles up north or just your new used wagon? A friend tried to trade his brother-in-laws minivan from Virginia at a CA Chrysler dealership and they wouldn't take in back east vehicles.

Does the cold weather bother the PCV. During the winters in CA (colder East Bay) I noticed that my former 98 S70 T5 would have a waxy type sludge on the dip stick due to short drives. How about even more infrequent short drives in a college town in Virginia. Winters seems to be much colder than NC but perhaps not as Upstate? Thanks.

Not on CL, on FB marketplace. 1998 v70 AWD 2.4L Turbo wagon 232,000 on clock, less on engine. $250.00 Had intermittent due and not restart. Managed to drive it home, then got it to die. Determined a no spark issue and found cracked distributor cap but that didn’t fix it. Then found cracked coil which was the culprit. Replaced cap and rotor and coil with lifetime guarantee parts that Autozone had in stock for under $150! First Volvo and very excited.

Awesome!

Soon we will convince you to replace them with lifetime FCP OEM parts, though

Keep that Willow green metallic out of NJ. They have a history of going Rogue on I287

I78, not 287 and the going "Rogue" is quite accurate as I was creamed by a Nissan Rogue.

It is a really nice, subtle color that can look really varied depending on the light.
