I'm really stumped with this one, I have an 04 V70 T5 with no fuel pressure, cranks and will not start, everything else appears to be fine, car has the plastic fuel tank and 341k kms
Background: Car died while driving, got towed home, noted no fuel pressure at the fuel rail, turning the key from position 1 to 2 to prime the fuel line would not work. Replaced fuel filter as I couldn't recall when I replaced it (under 5 years) and put in the known working pump I had in prior to installing a Aeromotive 325lph stealth pump (this was 4 years ago, not related to no fuel pressure), I test the relay and also use a known good one, and check all relevant fuses.
Car starts up and runs, I drive it about 10 kms, pulls well and I think I've got it solved.
Next day, no start, same issue, no fuel pressure at the rail.
I start doing some reading and discover these cars have a PEM, so I go looking for said PEM and have torn my car down completely and can not find the PEM, not relocated to the spare tire location, not in the RR wheel well under the liner, my wire harness looks like a cut-over design that does have the large plug into the top of the fuel sending unit on the right side, and no connectors on the left side. but at the right side lower C pillar (SIPS location) there is no second plug, just wires into the existing harness and a junction that goes back around the rear cargo bay to the rear CEM, black wire for a ground by the C pillar and a thick green wire and thin yellow wire that go to the front of the car.
So, what the heck might I be dealing with, I've done my best to look under the driver and passenger seats as well and still no PEM, has anyone come across this on a 04, and if so what might be the issue.
Did you know? 🤔

I'd like to add that there are NO codes at all, I out VIDA on it and nothing related to fuel/spark/air/brake.

Re: 2004 V70 T5 no fuel pressure
That's where it sits on my plastic tank. Now it may be the PEM (used ones sell for $50 on Ebay, all the same except for the R engine), but your CEM is also suspect for water ingress in 2004 so worth searching for water traces with a flash light
May as well look at the temp gauge for steady climbing from cold to 12, these also go bad and can cause non start (faulty coolant sensor or broken wires)

My PEM isn't there either, not on the side across from the filter or on top.

My PEM was on top the fuel tank on passenger side, tucked in a bit.

Re: 2004 V70 T5 no fuel pressure
A source for info is dealer.
Sometimes we are anti-dealer in forums but I have a decent relationship with local dealer mechanic. For unusual problems, I go to dealer at either early in AM or at 5PM (when they are more relaxed) and ask the shop foreman (in his 50s), who has a wealth of knowledge...
The shop foreman should be able to tell you where the PEM is for your year/model...

Re: 2004 V70 T5 no fuel pressure
As I suspected and confirmed with the dealer I use, it's an 03 masquerading as an 04, build date was 03/09, yet according to all paper work and VIDA it's an 04.
So it has no PEM.
So it has no PEM.

September 2003 will be a 2004 model year.
I thought all North American P2s have a PEM?
