Hi,

That looks sorta like it but not exact. I cant tell what part is needed from that.
I guess i'll just have to rig it up and that will have to be that.
Otherwise i would need a really good drawing or someone that did this before.
I dont want to have to take the other door apart just to find out what i need either.
Thanks though.
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.

Hi again,

I am starting to think that maybe the housing that holds the end of the cable was broken. So maybe there is no 'clip' maybe it is the housing itself that broke. It's too hard to tell by looking at the broken one and the drawings on the web just are not good enough, they are more like cartoon drawings than photos that's what doesnt work i guess.
But if this is true, i dont think i'd want to buy a whole new housing or even get one from the junk yard if they had one that is. It would be much more work then simply applying some epoxy or something like that.
I'll look around the web a little bit more but if anyone has a better drawing that would help, thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for the drawing. I think that is the right one this time.

I am posting two pictures, the first -2 is the same picture with the end of the cable highlighted with a red square showing the very end in question.
The second picture -3 is the same picture as -2 but with the "clip" or whatever it is highlighted within the red square in green. You have to look close to see it, but the very top of the end of the cable looks like it has a rectangular clip on top of it (green). This may be a clip or it may have been part of the cable. If it is part of the cable, then it looks like a whole new cable would have to be installed.

Thanks again.

Any ideas appreciated.

Hi,

Were you able to see that part in your door yet?
If so, is that 'clip' in the drawing really a separate
piece or is it part of the end part of the cable?

If a Volvo handle is pulled and does nothing, does a tree fall in a Swedish forest, making no sound?
