Anybody want a copy of VIDA 2014D Diagnostic and EPC software?

Post by Rossosaurus »

I picked up a copy of VIDA 2014 with one of those bootleg diagnostic tools for volvo and I stuck it on a VM as it doesn't play well with Windows 10. I know there are quite a lot of copies of this already available but I couldn't find any that are just VM with it on so I thought I'd post here to see if anyone wanted a copy.

For those who have no idea what I am talking about, VIDA is a piece of software that has information on most repairs on many volvo cars, exploded diagrams of most parts on volvos with a list of part numbers for purchasing the parts you need. It also features software to speak to the VIDA compatible diagnostic tool. I've almost finished reconditioning a 2007 Volvo S40 1.8 and this software has been an utter godsend. I'll also supply copy of the digital e-manual i have.

I checked the list of cars this version supports and I've put a list below any cars without a date by it I can only assume the software has information about the car for as long as it ran or for all the years up to 2014 but I'm sure some of the information will be the same if your volvo has the same engine/chassis/electronics as one of the previous years. The oldest car i could find on the software was a 1975 240 so if your car is newer than that this software is probably useful to you.

Anyway, here's the link if you want it. Instructions are in the zip file

We have solutions that play well in Windows 7 and better in Windows 10, VMs are a thing of the past.
The distro is RU EN 2014D_RePack and for Windows 7 you do the Chrome conversion and run VIDA in Chrome rather then IE.

VIDA 2014D supports model years 1975 - 2015. It may not include changes made midyear 2015.
DiCE supports model years 1999 and on.

Pre-99 cars need a Volvo VT2000 interface to communicate with VIDA. VT2000s are unicorns and will set one back more then the price of a good used Volvo ... good luck finding one.

I would say a VM is much more convenient since it can be isolated and is portable. I've got my one Virtualbox VM on several computers and have given it to friends who wanted to use it. I would have had to setup Vida at least thrice by now if I didn't do it as a VM.
